There is no straight way to get a copy of I140 approval notice. For all practical purposes the I140 reciept number will be sufficient(eg: To retain your priority date in case you file GC with another employer).


However, You can file a request using FOIA. Check the following threads.

I got all the receipts and FP notice from VSC on 10/15. Everything was filed on 7/31 and sent to TSC. FP date was 10/30. Got EAD last week and they want ID again for AP. 485 has been trasnferred to TSC now.

From what I know she can still work for 180 days while the 485 is investigated. You can appeal against the denial.

AFAIK, you will start accruing unlawful status once your 485 denied and you do not have a non-immigrant to status to backup. You should stop working. You will regain the status (i.e. pending AOS) only after the MTR is approved.

If you can post the legal references to support your point, it will really help many IVans.

I had the same issue last year. Per their website
(https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/Home.aspx) September 2006 dates are current, November may not be current yet. You will have to keep checking. The rules were being changed for the visa appointment procedures last Nov/ December. If you have already paid the HDFC fee you should also have free 15 minute telephone time to ask such questions from their agent in India or you might want to call them directly at the phone number below.

I am unsure about a single vs two appointments for you and your husband. Please confirm. It would be safer to direct such questions at the Embassy than at this forum because of the constant changes in the rules.

I am a physician MD currently doing IM residency on H1B. i have a job to start from oct 2007. since PDS for india are now current, i would like to know if my employer can file PERM for a prospective employee now in june. my univerdity lawyer is not clear or rather not willing to file.

Guys,

Would it be of benefit, if USCIS sends us a notice when our petition is "Pre-adjudicated; awaiting visa number"? So, we can at least be in peace and go on with our life?

Also, I see there is a suggestion to NOT count Dependants in the VISA numbers, since they are not counted for other visa (H1) status. Its a very good suggestion. We just have to be ready with the counter-argument, if we are told, H1 Dependant is H4 and not eligible to work. However, once GC is approved, that spouse gets equivalent benefits and hence its counted.

Thank you for the reply.

As I came to know L1 is denied due to skill set I have is not enough, which I do not agree and I can appeal for the same.

Will you advise me to reopen the case? And if I am reopening the case am I eligible to stay here in US till the case is finalized even if my I-94 expires?

Can I also file for H1 at the same time?

Hi,
I have seen that myself a couple of times. I had read somewhere on the USCIS site that the dates get updates also as a result of some backend process that they run on their side too, not necessarily when status change happens.

I use Canon gear, so am not much help with Nikon. However, my macro lens is the Sigma EX 105 and I think it is one of the best lens values available. I've owned it for a year now and use it more than any other of my lenses. Autofocus is slow, but I have yet to figure out why I'd want autofocus for macro work, so it doesn't matter. To get more reach, I'm seriously considering the new Sigma EX 150 macro. It is getting excellent reviews and images I've seen are as good as they get. I don't use any other magnifying techniques, so I can't offer any help with some of the other items you mentioned. Here's my current favorite shot with the Sigma macro.

I had applied for an extension for my parents, just a month before their I-94 was about to end. According to the law (as per my attorney, forums, Internet), they could stay here legally until a decision is made, which may be past the I-94 expiration.

So, in your case, if the decision is Positive, then they can stay until the new I-94 date that USCIS gives them. However, if the decision is Negative, then they have 30 days from the date of the decision to leave the country without being deported.

The reason I am doing paper based is that current immigration question. In efile you have to make a selection which apparently doesnt have the AOS option. On paper based we can put, Adjustment of Status (I-485 Pending).

I sent the pictures last TUESDAY, I was expecting my online status to change to: WORKING ON THE CASE before the do the approval, but nothing.

I need to leave ASAP for Europe and I dont know how long is it going to take for them to mail me the TRAVEL DOCUMENT

Anybody did a RFE of two pictures? How long did it take since you sent the pictures?

Did anyone get their GC Approvals from USCIS Local Offices which are pending after the interview is complete? If anyone is waiting for local office cases what is the process they are following and how is the approval process?

I am waiting for my approval of my EB2 India with PD Nov 2004. it is pending in San Jose Local office

I guess applications pending at local office are unlucky guys :-(
