Hmm... good option. Though I would still go with Vonage in this case.
However ALLVOI does offer calling using your mobile phone. They charge $2 extra per month to register your mobile phone (up to 4 phones) and some token charge. Not bad.

I've seen many job ads asking for US citizens or GC holders only. That implies that EAD and H1B holders cannot apply. And at the same time at the end of the ad, u can see a text that says "xxx is an equal opportunity employer". Though both the statements are contradictory, companies post such ads. Not sure though if companies are allowed to have such policies. If so, why?

Hi,
My company's attorney filed for my PERM and I-140. After I-140 approval the attorney kept the original I-140 and sent me the courtesy copy of the approval. I am now going to file for my I-485 on my own.
My question is -
Can I make a photocopy of the courtesy copy of this I-140 approval and use it to file my I-485?
P.S: Courtesy copy is NOT the photocopy of the original I-140. It is a copy that USCIS sends in addition to the orinial approval.
I am in the same situation, and I plan to include photocopy of my courtesy copy of my I-140 with other docs, as I am filing AOS by myself. If anyone else had the same issue, please share your exp.

In the old system any unused visa from EB3 Row would got EB1 India/China first and then EB2 -I/C and then Eb3 -I/C.
What you described ("last few rows") is what they are following now, Einstein!!!

Let me tell you I am as anxious and frustrated as you all "July 2 filers, no action yet" are. But I am thinking about it a bit calmly, rather than thinking of doing something so that I feel that I have done something (i.e. complain, write to congressman, etc.). Expressing my anger by saying they should have done this or that, does not change the situation. I believe USCIS is working, as expected, with the capability/attitude of a government worker, treating our filings (which are so important to us) just another government office paper work. Best is just to wait for another 10 days, and if nothing is heard by then, take action as per procedures.

Finallly, my online status changed from "Initial review" -> "Document production" and also got email from Senator's office that my case is approved.
I think I got it....but not 100% sure yet...no approval emails yet... or no other proof.

Its been over 3 hours now that I informed CapitalOne that the discrimination is illegal. And as expected, no reply received yet.
You scared the HR. He/she would have never thought you will get back to them with this info :D
I was talking to a reqruiter the toher day and he told me of a case where he placed a candidate with EAD and within weeks the EAD expired and the renewal did not come in time, though they managed to clear out the issue, the company seems to be uncomfortable dealing with the EAD shit, thats what he told me.

I saw this link Murthy's email too. The total pre-adjudicated cases in the chart is matching with the total in the document. Well now there are more un-answered questions:
1. Does all other pending 485 include employment based ? If yes what % are employment based ? Obviously we do not have any country specific data on these.
2. Is there any way to know whether individual case is pre-adjudicated or not ?
USCIS has fooled us again. No good statistical analysis can be done on incomplete/inaccurate data. I am going from hopeful to hopeless again. I am EB2-I Feb 2006.

A friend of mine forgot (!!) :confused: to renew his EAD when it expired last September. He then applied for renewal 60 days after the expiration date and got his new EAD without any problem, no questions asked!
I filed for my own renewal about 90 days before the expiration date and when about 85 days had passed and I was getting worried, I called USCIS and was told: " Do you need the card to show your employer that you are legal? No? Then, don't worry about it. As long as you applied on-time, you are fine." I actually received the EAD five days after the expiration date...
These two experiences are from California Center.

I cannot renew my Driver's License if I don't have a valid work permit. I doubt whether the Receipt notice is enough for the Drivers License office to issue a new DL. I changed my employer and the new employer may ask for a new one. But I'm hoping that I might get one in less than 3 months. Let's see

You still did not get it. Without evidence of discrimination it would be difficult to fight against... Forget this for a moment, in any law based battle you have to have a evidence. It is not that I do not want to fight or somebody do not want to fight. How could you make the base for fighting? This other guy, with his sheer luck (And with Capital One's stupidity) could get written evidence and so he has a valid base to fight against. And without evidence, whatever you write to whomsoever authirities, it would just be a blabbering. Even as one platform if IV decides to fight against this, IV team (Or lawyers whom we appoint) will ask the evidence first to make the case. Other thing, do not forget, what we could achieve in July 2007, the base was definately a first screw up from USCIS ( That is an evidence...). Once that screw up happened we could right away make it a reference and could make it a battle point.. Do you still understand or you do not want to understand?
I do understand that without evidence you can't fight the conventional way or file a law suit. It would be difficult, if not impossible. I am not debating that. I never said it would be easy. Guys, we have already seen the Dec visa bulletin and there is absolutely no change in processing dates so its even more important to fix the AC21 issue ASAP. With this huge delay in 485 approval, more and more people will force to get into AC21 and will see more denials.

But, woudn't the 75% of 140K quota for next two years be consumed by ROW applicants who are about to apply. Becoz they are current wouldn't the VISA number go to them..
All the above calculations I guess are assuming that the entire 140K will be given the pending 485 application..May be I am missing something.

Perhaps something as simple as the florist's confirming delivery address etc?
That is the reason they ask for recipient's telephone number. They do warn that they may call the recipient to confirm delivery details.
